| Kiara retired from show and breeding scene in February 2007. She is joining great couple, previous kerry owners and will became what she always wanted to be- The PRINCESS, the one and only, the attention-on-me-please girl! Report from new family came to her 2nd month retirement aniversary:" I realized this morning that is has been two months since Kiara joined our family. It seems like she has been part of my life forever already. I can’t imagine life without her. Kiara suckers me into endless games of fetch, sleeps on the pillow next to me every night or Velcro-ed to my legs and back), takes me on long walks in the mornings, and guards the house for me while I work. She has never had an accident in the house during this time and charms everyone she meets. She is a joy to be with and she makes me laugh every day by doing some silly thing. We are planning a long and loving future with this special lady. I thank you so much for allowing us bring her into our family. She adds so much joy to our lives. " Irish translation of Kiara/Ciara is "Dark". But her color nor temperament follows that. She was raised by my mom and came to US when ready to show, in October 2004. Kiara finished in very short time with all majors from specialty weekends. She stands at 18 inches, has fancy silver blue coat with dark points (face and legs) and free eye-catching movement with great reach and drive. Kiara is a playful and cuddly girl, loves to be hugged and kissed. Her preferred resting spot is my bed. She likes to sleep "velcro style"- laying as close as possible to my body. Although very people oriented, she is also well socialized with dogs and other animals. Doesn't show any sign of aggression towards them. Kiara loves to retrieve and perfected leap and free catch in the air. She can play for hours! She passed her health tests: OFA hips, OFA thyroid, OFA cardiac, OFA knees (patellar luxation), CERF eyes and factor XI. normal (values as well as DNA testing). http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=1132510#animal Kiara is vWD tested by DNA test (Vetgen) as "affected" and the actual value of her vWd is only 4%. I am in touch with part of her family in this point (stud's owner and Gaeltacht kennel) and they are testing some of their dogs. Also Braudag kennel is looking into testing opportunity as of February 17th. That is a great news! Kiara's dam is a bitch of mostly Irish/ Louisburgh origin. "Arabella" was top kerry 1997 in former Czechoslovakia, with many BOB's and also obtained prestige title of the International Champion, winning shows in different European countries and following steps of her very successful older sister "Xenie". Kiara's sir- Gaeltacht Iosac Aduaidh ("Baron") is famous son of the famous sire, "Mick's" brother and one of the most successful kerries in Finland -Multi Ch. and World Winner 02- Torum's Stormin Norman (vWd CLEAR by DNA test). Baron was chosen as a best in show (BIS) dog at such a prestige shows as Euro dog show 2002 in Paris, best of Breed in Brusel 2002, World Winner-Amsterdam 2002 and BOB at recent European dog show 2005 held in Austria.
