Cross the Rubicon puppies are ALWAYS raised
at home, not in kennel. They come from parents
of sound temperament and good health,
confirmed by tests.

I honor country of origin (Ireland) and that shows
in puppies pedigree as well as general
appearance.
I always strive for "better kerry" and improving the
quality of the breed is the first on my mind.

Picking a stud dog is a serious task. My priority is not just a good look, BUT a good temperament and
sound health confirmed by extensive health testing posted on OFA website for everyone to see.

      All Cross the Rubicon puppies come with AKC registration, microchip, started on vaccines and
free of internal/extrenal parasites. Puppies are raised on high quality natural food and groomed
regularly.
Pups are sold with agreement/sales contract, health and return back guarantees.

I highly recommend to research local obedience classes, doggy-day care and off-leash/park areas.

*Are you the right prospect for Cross the Rubicon kerry?*

Many people are enchanted by beauty and charisma of kerry blue terrier, but not all would make the
best fit, especially for young dog.

Just like in rising children, parents and in this instance *owners* are those who have the most
significant impact on young dog and what will became out of it when matures.
No matters how well behaved, trained and socialized the parents are, getting puppy from the
responsible involved breeder is just a first step.

Naturally, when purchasing your puppy- you think of instant best companion forever.

There are many questions to ask to breeder and many more to ask yourself.
Some of them are:
  • Am I ready to be highly involved in rising a young dog (count up to 2 years of intense work)?
  • Am I ready to offer love, but equally so -a lots of exercise and a structure?
  • Am I ready to work with my pup's paws, mouth, ears and coat daily to make him adjusted to
    normal daily handling and grooming?
  • Am I able to go for walks to keep my dog happily tired?
  • Am I able to provide my dog with other forms of exercise- jogging, bicycling, playing in the park?
  • Do I understand that my backyard needs to have a COMPLETE solid (not electric) fence? But
    even so, this equals to a large bathroom not to a good amount of exercise.
  • Do I understand the difference between solitary possessive nature of an average terrier in
    comparison to pack raised, happy-to-share dogs as beagles, huskies, labradors etc?
  • I have another dog. Would my dog like a friend? Is my dog an alpha?
  • How much do I know about socializing the dog and where can I learn more?
  • Where is the closest doggy day care and what are their requirements?
  • How and where to take obedience classes (including knowing the trainer and find place which
    does NOT use prone and/or shock collars)?
  • Who is going to groom-myself or groomer?
